Through the virtues our parents taught us and the hearty food like pierogi and Czernina our mothers prepared for us, the strength and character of the first generation transferred to the second. THE POLISH AMERICANS applauds the independent spirit, determination and solidarity that made it possible for our families to thrive in New York City, Cleveland, Schenectady, Milwaukee, Chicago and other communities.
