Its acronym meaning "thunderbolt" stands for Grupa Reagowania Operacyjno-Manewrowego (Operational Mobile Reaction Group) and in Polish Army nomenclature it is called JW 2305. The force is trained in special operations and unconventional warfare roles to be deployed, and has been, in the defense of Polish citizens.
